ManananggalThe Manananggal is a popular creature for its ability to cut itself in half and fly atop houses with its wings to find its prey.
When it is about to find a prey, it grabs a jar of containing a special kind of worms and gets some of them. It would rub them on its armpit and soon after, bat-like wings would start to grow. The body would then cut into two from the waist and leave the lower half as it flies. The Manananggal would attack humans and chase them at night to eat their internal organs. The crows become noisy when they sense the arrival of the Manananggal. To ward off the Manananggals, people sprinkle them with vinegars and salt. They also wear garlics and religious items to keep Manananggals from getting close to them. |
